
Celebrate the Fall: Join Us for Two Great October Workshops
CSI comes to Indianapolis October 16!
No, it's not the television show, but this workshop promises to be entertaining and more informative! Dr. Steve Nataro will be leading a full day session on the basics of business for health and non-profit organizations, called the CSI Approach to Strategic and Business Planning. Dr. Nataro, who recently received the Excellence in Teaching Award at the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana, has a wealth of experience managing non-profits and has developed this course as a way to help public health professionals succeed at the business behind the care. Topics covered in this workshop include:
- Developing goals
- Strategic planning
- Evaluation
- Business basics
- Fund development
- Social Marketing
- Leadership
Worksheets, tools, and resources will be incorporated into the day. The workshop will be from 9 am to 3 pm at the MAPHTC Training Center, located at 714 N. Senate, Indianapolis. The $40 registration fee will cover all materials, break service, lunch, and a certificate.

Do Pregnant Women Really Need to Stay Away from Litter Boxes?
This and other questions related to animals and public health will be answered by State Epidemiologist and Veterinarian Dr. Jim Howell and Veterinarian Dr. John Schnarr at our Public Health Cafe on October 21st. The speakers will look at common myths and demonstrate why we need to consider animal health as a public health issue.
The Cafe will be from 8:00-9:30 am at the MAPHTC Training Center, located at 714 N. Senate, Indianapolis. It is free of charge and includes breakfast.
