The Indiana State Department of Health, Indiana Public Health Association, and Indiana University School of Medicine Department of Public Health Office of Public Health Practice are pleased to present a joint National Public Health Week Conference, Building the Foundation for a Healthy Indiana.
Our nation’s health is in poor shape, even though we spend more on health care than any other country. In light of our failing health system, National Public Health Week (NPHW) 2009 raises awareness nationally and locally of public health’s critical role in restoring and ensuring a healthy America. Building a healthy nation will require changes to how we protect and promote health in our country, with an emphasis on fortifying an effective public health foundation. Public health is a crucial component of the solution because it affects every facet of our lives: our nation, communities, workplaces, and homes.
